A graduate of Southampton Medical School, Mr Neil Jain became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh before completing his Higher Surgical Training on the North West of England rotation. He subsequently completed a specialist fellowship in Sports Medicine and Reconstructive Arthroscopy at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Since returning to the UK and the Manchester area, he has developed a specialist practice in sports trauma, offering both operative and non-operative treatments for shoulder, knee and general soft tissue injuries. Neil has a background in academia and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Salford.
He has authored book chapters and has over 30 research publications in peer-reviewed journals, along with more than 100 national and international meeting presentations. He regularly teaches on multiple courses and is invited to speak at national and international meetings. He also supervises visitations from healthcare professionals who wish to observe his practice. As part of his practice, Neil regularly cares for professional sportspeople and has provided care for international footballers, world champion boxers, champion mixed martial artists, international cricketers and rugby players, Olympic athletes, and professional and Olympic cyclists over the years. His passion for sports medicine has led to his work with many clubs and teams, as well as at the Commonwealth Games, Rugby World Cup and Olympic Games.
Mr Jain is heavily involved in the promotion and education of sports surgery in the United Kingdom, having served on the British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma and Arthroscopy Association (BOSTAA) committee for a decade. He is currently the BOSTAA Vice-President.
