BASEM’s Annual Conference is an established event in the SEM calendar.  As a membership organisation, organising BASEM’s intention is to bring people together a face-to-face, combining high quality education with the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, peers, friends and celebrated figures within the field, in a focused and welcoming environment.

 The conference provides a space for knowledge sharing across the profession, both through the clinical lecture programme and through the latest product and technological developments, showcased in the exhibition area and sponsor-led practical workshops. Hosted in a different location each year, the conference is open to both members and non-members and continues to grow in reputation and reach.

The audience is predominantly made up of SEM clinicians, alongside a broad range of professionals reflecting the collaborative nature of sport and exercise medicine.  With three parallel conference streams plus workshops, the programme attracts practitioners working across elite sport, musculoskeletal medicine, public health and private practice. Alongside senior clinicians, the conference also welcomes renowned academic researchers, as well as medical students and doctors at the beginning of their careers in SEM. The result is a varied and engaged audience that returns year after year, helping to create an established and respected meeting for the SEM community.
