Dr Suzanne Tang is a Consultant in Public Health in the NHS England National Public Health Team, where she leads on secondary prevention and long-term conditions. Passionate about closing the gap between prevention and clinical care, she champions the integration of preventative approaches such as smoking cessation and physical activity, into healthcare pathways to improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities. Prior to joining the national team on secondment in 2026, Suzanne held a senior role within NHS England's East of England regional healthcare public health team, providing strategic leadership across a broad prevention portfolio spanning cardiovascular disease prevention, NHS Health Checks, obesity, tobacco dependency and alcohol harm reduction.

Suzanne has a broad background spanning clinical medicine and public health, having originally trained in anaesthetics and acute care in East London, and has worked across a wide range of settings and levels including NICE, East London NHS Foundation Trust, and as a National Medical Director's Clinical Fellow. Suzanne is particularly committed to driving system-wide change that improves population health and tackles inequalities through partnership working, innovation and the effective use of evidence. She is also a strong advocate for workforce development and collaborative learning, supporting the next generation of public health professionals and leaders.

Outside work, Dr Tang serves as a Trustee and Director of Bow Foodbank, reflecting her longstanding commitment to tackling the wider determinants of health and supporting local communities.
