
Mr Ali James is the Head of Medical Services at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. A Chartered Physiotherapist, he completed a Master's degree in the Science and Medicine of Athletic Performance at the University of Oxford.
Following his time at Oxford, Ali spent two seasons as a professional rugby player with Gloucester Rugby, affording him first-hand insight into the physical and performance demands of elite sport. He has also completed postgraduate studies in Manual Therapy and is currently undertaking a Master's degree in Strength and Conditioning at St Mary's University, Twickenham.
Before joining Tottenham Hotspur, Ali served as Head of Physical Therapies for Aston Villa FC's senior men's team for four seasons, culminating in the club's UEFA Europa Conference League triumph. Prior to Aston Villa, Mr James spent a decade as Head of Medical Services at Wasps Rugby. During this time, he also completed two consultancy spells with the England senior men's rugby team, including the 2017 summer tour of Argentina.
