About this Session

Through presentations spanning head injury management, mental health and wellbeing, and the translation of research into practice, speakers will discuss how collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches are supporting the health and welfare of players across the academy and first team environments.

Mr Mike Brownlow is a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 20 years’ experience working in elite sport environments and supporting the UK high-performance system. He is currently Senior Player Health Manager at the Premier League, where he contributes to the development and delivery of player health strategy across the professional game.

Prior to joining the Premier League, Mike held an Athlete Health Consultant role within the UK Sports Institute and prior to this he spent three Olympic cycles as a Physiotherapist and strategic leader in GB Winter Sport. His wider experience includes previous roles with British Swimming and Nottingham Forest FC.

Mr Brownlow has authored/co-authored papers and editorials on topics linked to injury and illness surveillance and football specific topics.
