Dr Sam Botchey is a Consultant in Musculoskeletal, Sport and Exercise Medicine with a specialist clinical focus on orthobiologics, regenerative musculoskeletal medicine and ultrasound-guided interventions. He is Head of Performance at Lanserhof at The Arts Club and Founder of The Sports Biologics Clinic, a specialist practice focused on evidence-led, non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal injury, osteoarthritis, tendon disorders and performance-limiting pain. His work combines diagnostic precision, biological treatment strategies, adjunctive technologies and strength-based rehabilitation, with clinical interests spanning platelet-rich plasma, bone marrow aspirate concentrate, microfragmented adipose tissue, emerging cell-based treatments, EMTT, laser, shockwave therapy and integrated return-to-performance pathways utilising advanced biomechanics, metabolic and nutritional approaches.
His background spans elite sport, NHS hospital medicine, NHS musculoskeletal practice, MOD rehabilitation and private musculoskeletal medicine. He has previously worked in NHS emergency and major trauma settings, NHS MSK clinics and MOD Regional Rehabilitation Units, and has held roles across Premier League football clubs, professional rugby, international sport and major sporting events. He has also served as Lead VTML for the NFL London Games for the past six years. This breadth of experience has shaped a pragmatic and clinically grounded approach to managing musculoskeletal injury across the spectrum, from active individuals through to high-performance athletes.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Botchey is actively involved in education, service development and the advancement of responsible orthobiologic practice in the UK. He has undertaken focused orthobiologics training with leading international experts, including Dr Mikel Sánchez and his team in Spain, and is involved in the development of a British Orthobiologics Society to support higher standards in patient selection, procedural delivery, treatment sequencing, outcome tracking, governance and evidence-based communication.
